• Starts off with the cross hairs aiming at the universe suggesting the world is in danger
• Voice-over saying he's a dangerous man
• Starts fighting with the security when stopped
• Holding a gun towards something
• Military kicking down the door trying to catch the 'Antagonist'
• Actor is running away suggest hes being chased which is a common feature in action movies
• Gets a car and heads off implying hes running away from someone
•  Guy holding a gun, weapon often used in action movies

Action Trailer Analysis- Fast And Furious 7

•  The music intensifies when he gets a call gives you sense something is about to happen
•  The house explodes which is common in action movies
•  There is a fighting sequence, knocking a guy out with the gun
•  Antagonist holding a big gun  
•  2 cars clash with each other trying to kill one another 
• The Tagline 'Vengeance Hits Home' implies some big fight is going to happen
•  Actor has a cast which shows he got injured during a fight
•  Actor holding a big machine gun and is shooting at something

Since I already looked at teaser trailer conventions, I am now going to look at 5 different teaser or normal trailers and analyse them in terms of their genre conventions which will help me when I do my own teaser trailer and I will know what to include in my teaser to make it look real.

Action Conventions- Expendables 2

Below is the poster of the action film Expendables 2

• The writing at the top is in thick bold print indicated its military style movie
• The actors in this movie are stars in big blockbuster films
• The backround you see building on fire and planes is blown out of the sky which happens in action movies
• The clothing that is worn by the actors are military type and they are fighting something big and serious
• They are also holding big machine guns and high techs equipment like they are prepared for a big fight
• Direct mode of address
• The facial expression of the actors is that he's focused, serious and means business
• The font of the movie title is thick and bold implying that its an action packed movie
• The tagline 'BACK FOR WAR' itself shows that they are back for a fight and bound to be an action filled movie

• He's holding a gun which is a common weapon in action films

• The protagonist is seen hanging off an obstacle and he's hanging on for dear life
• You see the protagonist kissing and there is a romance part of it
• The thumbprint in the backround implies some sort of identity

Action Conventions- GOLDENEYE

• Central figure holding a gun which shows it is an action film
• The 2 women on either side of him is like a prize to him if he does succeed in this mission
• You have planes exploding off the sky which is a common feature in an action movie
• The actor is seen running which shows he's being chased
• The fire in the backround has connotations of an exploded bomb
• The car looks like as its moving at a fast speed implying that its trying to escape from a situation
• The outline of the map and coding in the backround can further represent the protagonist trying to track down the antagonist

Action Convention- Jack Reacher

• The actor has got a scar on his face which shows he was involved in a brawl
• His facial expression is focused and determined, that he is looking to avenge for something
• On his right hand he is holding a gun which is a weapon that's commonly used in action films
• His left hand is clenched fist implying that he is ready for a fight
• Tagline shows he has got no limits and will go all out to achieve his objective
• The movie title is big, bold and white which shows 

Action Conventions- The Equalizer

• The backround of the poster is dark and smoky which implies its an action movie and common as well in this genre
• The movie title font is thick, bold and red which symbolises action and blood
• The dominant image is a man holding a gun showing that its violent 
• Director of this film also directed Training Day which is also an action movie
• The facial expression of the dominant figure is serious, fearless and he is about to do something dangerous and daring

Now that I have chosen the Action genre for my marketing campaign, I am now going to choose five existing posters and analyse them in terms of genre conventions, terms of layout, font and more, which will give me an idea on the genre conventions that I am going to put on my Action themed poster.

After analysing teaser trailers from a variety of genres I decided the genre for my teaser trailer will be Action.So I am going to research all about action films and the actual action genre, to find out what type of things I need to include in my teaser trailer which will help me in my marketing campaign.
